Rich McCue head shot

Welcome to Design & Digital Making 101! In this UVic Libraries workshop series you will learn a range of skills that will allow you to design and make devices to solve problems in the world around us.

I manage the Digital Scholarship Commons in the University of Victoria Libraries and am the father of five wonderful children (including 3 engineers). I am looking forward to working with you.

My research interests include academic makerspaces, active learning teaching methods, flipped learning, and open pedagogy. I have worked at the University of Victoria since 2001 and taught various educational technologies since 2005. In the Digital Scholarship Commons, we help the UVic community explore and express their ideas in ways other than text by making available digital tools like 3D printers, electronics kits, Virtual Reality equipment, and data visualization software, and teach individuals how to use those tools.
